Pursed lips breathing is a simple but effective breathing method which can assist people who are short of breath to recover. Breathlessness can occur when exerting oneself such as walking up or down stairs for people who have breathing problems such as those suffering from chronic lung disease including COPD and IPF. The first two videos below by the American Lung Association demonstrate how to use Pursed Lip Breathing. The third video is by the Breathing Center of Houston.
