What is Pulmonary Fibrosis?

Pulmonary fibrosis is one of many interstitial lung diseases (ILD), including the diseases that have scarring and/or inflammation in the lung. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is the most common of ILD. There is a high mortality rate in IPF, with a reported median survival of 2–3 years from diagnosis.
